After growing up playing mostly classical and orchestral music, Kate found a passion for improvisation in high school. She attended Berklee School of Music and studied music education. Lessons are able to be tailored around the student. From traditional tunes from the sea ports of early America, to the Suzuki books, jazz favorites, or learning to write your own songs. Many students that come to take lessons are burned-out and searching to find why they play an instrument. Finding pleasure in music from a non-competitive angle is Kate's mission. Students have been as young as 3 and others are wanting to learn an instrument in their senior years. Weekly lessons are encouraged, but not required. Lessons are usually at the student's home. Currently, Violin and Piano lessons are offered.
